The Trust was named after him — Sheikh Mohammad bin Ali Al-Amoudy — who is recognized as the founder of the organization.

Sheikh Mohammad bin Ali was widely known across the country and respected by religious leaders, politicians, and people from different sectors of society. He was also recognized internationally, with connections to people from countries such as Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Qatar, Dubai, and others. Visiting scholars, sheikhs, and religious leaders who came to Kenya would often make it a point to meet him.

Together with his brothers, Sheikh Mohammad bin Ali led many positive initiatives that earned them trust, admiration, and cooperation from many people. Various visitors who came from different places praised him in their writings and biographies.

After the passing of Sheikh Mohammad bin Ali Al-Amoudy, the activities of the Bin Ali Al-Amoudy Trust are now being continued by his family — especially under the leadership of Sheikh Ali bin Ali Al-Amoudy, along with the children of Sheikh Mohammad bin Ali, the children of his brothers, and other family members. They work together with trustees, well-wishers from different places, and with support and recognition from the Government of Kenya to continue the mission and activities of the Bin Ali Al-Amoudy Trust.
